Who we are
EQUIP 117 is a relational system focused on developing men into Multiplying Disciple Makers (MDM) who evangelize unchurched men, disciple them, and establish them in a local church
Evangelism:
Our MDMs are shown how to reach men where they already are—work, community, and shared life—especially those who have remained distant from traditional church settings.
Discipleship:
Through relational environments called HUBs, men are invited into authentic connection, spiritual formation, and practical discipleship. Men gather in small groups called CREWs, where trust is built, Scripture is practiced, and lives are stabilized through accountability and brotherhood.
Establish:
Helping men connect to, and form relationships in a local church is built into every aspect of our ministry. We don’t just recommend church membership — we guide men through every step of finding, contacting, visiting, connecting with, and joining a local church.
The EQUIP Pathway
From first connection to multiplying disciple-maker
While EQUIP is not linear, most men experience growth through a recognizable progression over time.
Initial Connection – Meeting Men in Culture
Men are invited into relationships through personal invitations and shared interests. HUBs are local gatherings where men connect, learn, and practice discipleship together.
Participation is intentionally low-pressure. Drop-ins are encouraged, allowing men to explore relationships and faith before making deeper commitments.
HUBs - a place to belong
HUBs are a relational environment where men at different points in the pathway gather together; exploring faith, growing in a CREW, or training as multiplying disciple-makers simultaneously.
The HUB experience has four pillars that frame the event.
Connect:
This half-hour before the start time is vital to the HUB —Here, relationships are formed and trust is built; casual conversation, activities, and shared moments are not trivial, they enrich the soil in which spiritual growth can occur. Otherwise, the rest of the night risks being transactional or hollow.
Ritual:
This ten-minute rhythm anchors the room. We read the creed, speak the theme verse, celebrate changed lives, and acknowledge milestones. Repetition builds conviction. Familiarity builds unity. Growth becomes the standard.
Challenge:
Where God’s Word comes alive. It’s more than teaching; it’s the moment where truth confronts comfort, understanding meets conviction, and hearts are stirred to action. A compelling presentation, delivered with clarity and passion, opens men’s eyes to God’s perspective, expands their worldview, and prepares them to respond to His call. This is where the Holy Spirit begins His work, preparing men for what is to come in their CREWs.
CREWs:
CREWs are the small group atmosphere where the Holy Spirit can access men’s hearts — where hidden struggles, unspoken questions, and untapped potential are brought into the light. It is the place to wrestle with truth, to feel the weight of conviction, and to experience the power of brotherhood as others speak honestly and listen deeply. Here, men make commitments that reach beyond the walls of the HUB. Prayer, guidance, and reflection turn insight into action, shaping men to lead, serve, and follow Christ more faithfully. This is the heartbeat where lives are sharpened, strengthened, and sent out transformed.
The Multiplying Disciple-Maker (MDM) Journey – The Heart of EQUIP
Men who demonstrate faithfulness, humility, and a growing capacity are invited into the MDM Journey, a 12-week relational process designed to:
Clarify their identity as disciple-makers
Walk intentionally with other men
Lead simple, reproducible discipleship relationships
This journey emphasizes practice and discernment over information, focusing on real-life application and spiritual formation. Men who finish this journey are challenged do discern the atmosphere in which they will live out their calling to disciple others: in their own CREW, in their church or at their work.
Establishing men
At every stage of development, men are encouraged to establish and advance a relationship with a local church. We acknowledge the complexity, but we believe that God’s blessings flow only when we are committed to His plan for the world — and that plan centers on the Church. New believers will be coached on how to join a church, advancing believers will be challenged to increase their service to the church, and trained leaders will be commissioned to take their discipleship skills back to the church to strengthen discipleship in its purest context: the Church.
