EQUIP partners with local churches

Our Posture Toward the Church

EQUIP exists to serve the local church—not to replace it or compete with it. We believe the work of disciple-making is inseparable from the life of the church, even when men first encounter spiritual formation outside its walls.

Many men enter EQUIP without a church background. From the beginning, our aim is not to extract men into a separate system, but to establish them in a local church through simple, relational, and authentic leadership.

How EQUIP Partners with Churches

EQUIP partners with churches in multiple ways, depending on their capacity, culture, and calling. We do not prescribe a single model. Instead, we protect the gospel integrity of the MDM journey while working alongside churches in flexible ways that support and strengthen their mission.

FAQ

  • No. EQUIP exists to serve and strengthen the local church. We do not offer worship services, ordinances, or church membership, and we intentionally encourage every man to pursue healthy connection within a local church.

  • Many men encounter EQUIP before they ever step into a church. From the beginning, church connection is assessed and encouraged through relationship—not pressure. CREW leaders walk with men as they explore, attend, and eventually engage in a local church that is a good fit for their spiritual growth.

  • Church engagement is one of the core areas we assess and revisit as men grow. CREW leaders are trained to advocate for local church involvement and service as a natural and necessary expression of spiritual maturity and disciple-making.

  • Men who complete the MDM journey are commissioned through discernment, relational investment, and affirmation. They are released to serve where God has already given them relational influence—within EQUIP, within a local church, or within their workplace and community—always oriented toward strengthening the church.

  • EQUIP remains outward-focused through clear guardrails, leadership development, and relational accountability. Our DNA is intentionally passed on through discipled leaders, not dependent on any single individual.
